Bathing In A Moldy Bathtub

Review: claim by Darkness

New review urban fantasy: the book I want to talk today came out very little for Fanucci Editore and is the second book of a series that I personally appreciate it very much, although I have read some negative opinions around. The book is now claimed by of Darkness Karen Chance.

WARNING: if you have not read the first volume of this saga is highly spoiler review.
Cassandra Palmer is Pitia. Or rather, it would be if he had completed the ritual of losing her virginity to Mircea: Unfortunately the two were stopped on the most beautiful, and therefore nothing to do. The power now been undermined in Cassandra, and the ritual is not complete, she can not control it. So often that you find yourself in spite of travel through time without really knowing why, pulling with it whoever is touching. Furthermore, the problems to face are many: Myra wants to kill her to blow the charge, the wise men want to take him out to pass the charge to a more compliant Pitia, vampires want to control it ... and to make matters worse, because of incomplete rite, Cass finds herself attracted to almost every man, Prtikin included! Will our heroine to escape? O will be done away with by some of his enemies?

I read around rather negative comments about this book and then I was afraid of being disappointed but honestly I loved it! From the beginning it goes right into the action : Chance is not lost in the preliminaries, some assumptions had put in the first book, so we start from the beginning to chase through Cassandra breathtaking adventures. There are supernatural creatures for all tastes: nightmares, vampires, magicians, zombies, the inhabitants of the fairy world ... everyone has their own characteristics and many of them also a certain charm, although I doubt there is anyone to judge "handsome" the inhabitants of the fairy kingdom, because of their nature but above all their nature. As in the first volume there are historical figures under the most varied forms: in addition to the beautiful vampire Mircea, we have other names like Dracula, Bram Stoker, Elvis and Jack the Ripper. And Chance does not make us miss even mythological creatures, and here's the Graie therefore appear that, personally, I found a real fun: despite the terrible powers at their disposal and their taste for the splatter, I must admit that I was amused to death xD And I'm not the only ones, including Cass and his irony I have repeatedly ripped a chuckle. There is also the element
romance, actually more for what concerns the carnality of relationships: we can say that for most of the cash book is really hungry, though in reality, poor thing, is not the fault his own!
The story is told solely from the viewpoint of Cassandra and for those who may be accustomed to the changes Pdv this may be a flaw: I rather think that the author has nevertheless maintained good storytelling, without falling into pages and pages of reflections of the protagonist as is happening in Sunshine by Robin McKinley.
Noticina of demerit : sometimes a step is a bit 'confused. Not having read the original, I do not know whether this is due to a defect of the author or an inaccurate translation. It 's a pity, because, unfortunately, is something that can annoy and get people to take a negative view of the book. Personally, I tried to go further than this, but it would be incorrect not to quote in this review.
the whole, my opinion is more positive and that those who recommend the volume, of course, appreciated the first.
